FRIENDS FOREVER

“Friends are the family you choose” and that is very true. School is a place where we spend a huge chunk of our lives and right from the beginning we make bonds that are unforgettable for our lives. At AIPS we wished to cherish this essence of friendship with all our learners and so on 5th August 2022, we celebrated Friendship day.
The day began with our daily assembly invoking the blessing of the Almighty. The morning talk too was on friends and the importance of friendship in our lives. We encouraged all the learners to make new friends while inculcating the feeling of love and belongingness. Ms. Danica Machado our facilitator who was in-charge of the friendship day celebration, meticulously planned the day with various activities. In anticipation of the celebration all the learners had brought small gifts from home to exchange with their classmates.
The first activity was making greeting cards wherein each learner decorated a card and were asked to give it to any friend back at home. The learners thoroughly enjoyed the colouring time. We then moved on to the outdoor play area to exchange gifts. Each gift was numbered and chits of the numbers were put it in a box. The learners had to pick a number and take the gift of that number. All their faces gleamed with joy as they unwrapped their gifts. Sr. Sandra Fernandes, our Supervisor had made beautiful friendship bands that the facilitators tied on the learners’ wrists as they moved to their classes. They flaunted their gifts and posed with the friendship bands as we captured these memories to cherish forever.
The value of true friendships are unmatchable and we are glad to celebrate this at AIPS.
